Le'Veon Bell injury put yet another scare into Big Ten

With Fitzgerald Toussaint and Mike Mauti already carted off, yet another Big Ten star went down in Northwestern-Michigan State, but he's returned to the game.

Michigan State running back Le'Veon Bell was sidelined early against Northwestern with an apparent left arm injury. He was spotted being attended to by trainers on the sideline after stepping out of the game, but made it back onto the field with what was called another round of damage for his hurt shoulder.

Bell has accounted for 1,249 of MSU's 1,419 rushing yards entering the day. He leads the Big Ten in ground yardage -- ahead of even Montee Ball -- and ranks No. 8 in the country on the ground.

His exit would've been disastrous for a Spartans offense that can't get a whole lot going even with him in the game. At the moment, the Wildcats lead Michigan State, 3-2, at the end of the first quarter. Bell has seven rushes for 24 yards.
