UCLA now leads USC, 24-7, in the Rose Bowl.
With a 24-0 lead in the second quarter, it could be said UCLA held three of four railroads in the great Monopoly game that is this rivalry. However, USC's finally scored a touchdown, thereby grabbing control of the fourth railroad and Vermont Avenue.
A typical play from the first half shows Johnathan Franklin, who had 66 yards on his first 10 carries, blasting through an overeager and maybe confused defense for a score:
Matt Barkley has completed five of his 10 passes for 108 yards, a touchdown and a pick. Brett Hundley is now 16 of 18 for 141, plus 20 and a score on the ground, and the Bruins are still driving down the field. At this rate, USC's gonna have to outgun the Bruins, since UCLA's showing absolutely no signs of slowing down on offense.
