Stanford vs. Oregon final score: Cardinal upset Ducks in overtime, 17-14

The No. 13 Stanford Cardinal scored in the final minutes of regulation before beating No. 2 Oregon in overtime, 17-14, on Saturday night at Autzen Stadium.

Stanford quarterback Kevin Hogan led an 11-play, 78-yard drive in the final six minutes of regulation that was capped by a 10-yard touchdown pass to Zach Ertz, that appeared to tie the game at 14-14. The catch was initially ruled incomplete yet replays showed otherwise, with the official review ruling that the tight end's shoulder had come down in bounds and giving Stanford the tying touchdown.

Oregon received the ball first in overtime yet failed to move the offense forward when quarterback Marcus Mariota's intended pass for Josh Huff fell incomplete on third down. The Ducks could still have taken control of the game yet Alejandro Maldonado's 41-yard field goal attempt sailed wide and gave Stanford room for the upset.

The Cardinal then avoided disaster on second down when Hogan appeared to fumble the ball after a rush for no gain. Stanford recovered and two plays later, Jordan Williamson put the game away with a 37-yard field goal to give the Cardinal a 17-14 win over No. 2 Oregon.

In a tightly contested matchup between the two Pac-12 teams, Stanford outgained Oregon 411-410, with running back Stepfan Taylor putting up 161 yards rushing on 33 attempts. Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota was 22-of-38 for 212 yards, adding 89 yards rushing on 12 attempts.
