The Michigan Wolverines will travel to Minneapolis, Minn. to take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Saturday at TCF Bank Stadium. The Wolverines hope to rebound from their first conference loss of the season, a 23-9 defeat at the hands of the Nebraska Cornhuskers last weekend.
With the loss, Michigan fell out of the BCS standings, while also tumbling out of the AP and Coaches' polls. What's worse, the Wolverines also lost quarterback Denard Robinson to an injury in the game, but he is expected to start against the Gophers.
Minnesota picked up its first conference win of 2012 with a 44-28 beating of the Purdue Boilermakers. Gophers quarterback Philip Nelson shined, throwing for 246 yards and three touchdowns. With the win, Minnesota snapped a three-game losing streak.
In last season's meeting between the two teams, Robinson accounted for over 200 total yards and three scores as Michigan outgained Minnesota, 580 total yards to 177, in a 58-0 thrashing of the Gophers.
