The California Golden Bears face the Washington Huskies Friday night in a critical matchup for both teams. Cal is currently 3-6 and one loss away from their second losing season in three years. Washington is at 4-4, and tries to move over .500 and one win closer to bowl eligibility.
Cal is under serious fire as the team wraps up its 2012 campaign. The Bears have lost Keenan Allen possibly for the rest of the season, and Jeff Tedford is in serious jeopardy of not returning if the situation worsens. Cal is hoping to find new life at home, although the team is only 2-3 in Memorial this season.
Washington has struggled through one of the most brutal schedules in all of Division I football to start 2012. Despite dropping games to LSU, Oregon, USC and Arizona, the Huskies have managed to avoid falling too deep in the hole thanks to big wins over Stanford and Oregon State, both of which were ranked in the top 10 when they lost.
