Pitt's three players charged with assault will all play on Saturday against No. 3 Notre Dame. The three Pittsburgh Panthers in question are running back Ray Graham, receiver Devin Street and cornerback Lafayette Pitts. All three are starters and crucial to keeping this game competitive.
According to a statement from Pitt: "All three players will remain active members of our program while we gain more clarity on this situation."
The charges pertain to an Oct. 21 incident. The three players allegedly surrounded a man and one of them punched him in the head. They are being charged with simple assault and conspiracy.
Even with Graham, Street, and Pitts in the lineup, the Panthers are double-digit underdogs against the undefeated Fighting Irish. Graham leads the team in yards from scrimmage (866 yards), and Street is the team's leading receiver (695 yards). Pitts is second among all Pitt freshmen in tackles (21).
