Iowa leads No. 14 Rose Bowl hopeful Nebraska, 7-3, at the half. That's the nicest thing I can say about this game, which has seen multiple turnovers, overly conservative fourth-down choices, horrid clock management (Iowa dawdled 15 seconds before calling time out, then had an illegal substitution penalty), plenty of wind-hampered passing, a missed field goal that would've given the Hawkeyes a decent UPSET ALERT status, and other things you should be glad you're not watching.
Presented out of chronological order, Twitter reacts to this contest, with multiple independent comparisons of Kirk Ferentz to John L. Smith:
If Kirk Ferentz has any John L in him he'll tell halftime reporter "The kiss are playing their tails off and the Vosges are screwing it up."

A reminder that Kirk Ferentz is paid $3.85 million and is the dean of B1G coaches.

Not sure if I'm more interested in whether Iowa can upset Huskers or to see whether Bo Pelini has a meltdown in the process.

This Iowa game is getting me seriously hyped for the Colorado game.

Two Nebraska turnovers near midfield, Iowa scores no points. So it's like they didn't happen

I'm no genius, but I do know that when your LT, LG, C are collapsing the right side of the DL, it makes sense to run that way on 3rd/4th-1.

Nebraska should ask to play all-time defense.

Was just asked whether I hope Nebraska or Iowa wins. I only hope these people can outlast the winter, lady.

No idea how Maryland and Rutgers will ever be able to compete in the B1G. Just look how good these teams are.

Like he did against Penn State, Brett Maher unleashes a great rugby punt. 61 yards, out of bounds at the Iowa 4. #NEBvsIOWA

Iowa should pooch punt here. or hope for a roughing the passer call

Color guy going full Romney on whether to go on fourth down.

If there is any coach capable of burning 41 minutes of clock to protect a 7-3 lead, it is Kirk Ferentz. He would certainly try.

Pretty sure ABC just missed their own trivia question.
— Patrick Vint (@HS_BHGP) November 23, 2012
Seriously, Kirk Ferentz is morphing into John L. Smith before our eyes.

My seat on this flight is right next to the bathroom, so I basically have a great ticket to the Nebraska game at Kinnick.
