Spruce Derden-US PRESSWIRE

Little surprise, but the college career of last year's most exciting player in the country is reportedly over.

Former Heisman Trophy finalist Tyrann Mathieu, who was arrested on marijuana possession charges shortly after being kicked out of LSU for failing a drug test, will not play college football any more. He'll reportedly enter the NFL Draft, where he'll give NFL analysts a lot of very NFL things to talk about.

The latest we'd heard of Mathieu is that he's been living with former teammate Patrick Peterson's family in Florida.

Mathieu tore apart the SEC West as a freshman and sophomore, breaking LSU's school career forced fumbles record in just two seasons and breaking punt returns that sparked big 2011 wins over Arkansas and in the SEC Championship Game.

He's as talented as any player in the country, but his list of bad decisions also rivals just about anybody's. He's what NFL people call "a character risk," to say the least. But what a potential payoff.
