B.J. Daniels Injury: USF quarterback's college career likely over

Stay connected with SB Nation

South Florida quarterback BJ Daniels and the Bulls ended their six game losing streak with an ugly 13-6 win over Connecticut tonight. Unfortunately, Daniels' college career also came to an end, prematurely, in the effort. With the Bulls driving late in the fourth quarter, Daniels was tackled from behind and the Huskies' defender rolled up on his ankle, reportedly breaking it and ending his season. The Bulls are currently 3-6, clinging to the possibility of making a bowl game with three tough games left on the schedule at Miami next week, then at Cincinnati, before finishing the season at home against Pittsburgh.

Daniels will be replaced by backup quarterback Matt Floyd, who filled in for him tonight, and down the stretch in the 2010 season when Daniels was also lost to injury.
