The Florida Gators were on upset alert for much of the afternoon before edging out the Missouri Tigers 14-7.
The Florida Gators didn't make it easy on themselves, but they did manage to take the lead in the second half and hold on for the 14-7 victory over the upset-minded Missouri Tigers. Here are the video highlights of Florida's victory.
Missouri had their chances to win. The Tigers outgained the Gators, converted more third downs and more than doubled Florida on total first downs on the game.
But the Tigers wouldn't score off a long sustained drive. The Tigers would strike off a Florida turnover deep in their own territory, as Mike Gillislee fumbled the football to Donovan Bonner. Kendial Lawrence would then punch it in from one yard out to give Missouri a 7-0 halftime lead.
The Gators took over from there. After forcing two quick three and outs, Florida got a short field, and Omarius Hines rushed it in from 36 yards out to tie the game at 7-7.
Missouri would then drive into Florida territory on their next two drives, but would have their field goal attempt blocked and lose the football on an interception. Florida would immediately take advantage, as Jeff Driskel found Mike Gillislee for the 45 yard score to give the Gators a 14-7 lead. The Gators would pick off James Franklin four times (three times in the second half, and on the last two drives as well) to seal the win.
