Comeback victories by Alabama and Notre Dame kept the top 5 teams in the country mostly the same.
Despite close calls ruling college football's Week 10 slate of games, four of the top five teams remained the same in the USA Today Coaches Poll released Sunday.
The Alabama Crimson Tide, who avoided their first loss Saturday by escaping Baton Rouge with a thrilling 21-17 victory over the LSU Tigers, remained the No. 1-ranked team, receiving all 59 first-place votes.
The Oregon Ducks (No. 2), Kansas St. Wildcats (No. 3) and Notre Dame Fighting Irish (No. 4) also remained in the same spots, while the Georgia Bulldogs moved up to No. 5 after being ranked 6th last week.
The Bulldogs, who defeated Mississippi Rebels, 37-10, benefited from LSU's loss to Alabama, which dropped the Tigers down to No. 9 in the poll.
Three previous unranked teams – UCLA Bruins, Northwestern Wildcats and Toledo Rockets – moved into the top 25, while the West Virginia Mountaineers, Texas Tech Red Raiders and Oklahoma St. Cowboys all dropped out of the top 25.
