Arkansas State coach rumors: Bryan Harsin, Eddie Gran among reports

US PRESSWIRE

The Red Wolves finished 2012 with seven straight wins to earn a trip to the GoDaddy.com Bowl.

With the departure of Guz Malzahn from the head coaching spot at Arkansas State, the Red Wolves are in need of a new coach and some names have already been floated as possibilities.

Bruce Feldman of CBS Sports reported on Tuesday that Texas Longhorns co-offensive coordinator Bryan Harsin is expected to interview for the job, while former Florida State Seminoles defensive coordinator Eddie Gran is also in the running, according to Tomahawk Nation.

Harsin has served as the co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Texas for two seasons after ten years as a coach at Boise State. Gran coached three seasons at FSU as the special teams coordinator, running backs coach and associate head coach. Prior to joining the Seminoles in 2010, Gran coached special teams and running backs for 15 years in the SEC with Auburn and Tennessee.

Arkansas State finished 2012 with a seven-game winning streak to earn a trip to the GoDaddy.com Bowl against No. 25 Kent State on Jan. 6.
