The Irish and Crimson Tide will meet for the BCS National Championship in Miami. Six of the top 10 teams are from the SEC.
The final BCS standings have been released following a wild weekend of college football action. As expected, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish finished atop the BCS with an undefeated record. The Alabama Crimson Tide edged Georgia in the SEC Championship Game, and now Nick Saban's bunch will play for the championship for the third time in four years after finishing No. 2 in the BCS.
The Florida Gators finished third in the BCS. The Oregon Ducks came in fourth, while the Big 12 champion Kansas St. Wildcats rounded out the top five.
Stanford, which won the Pac-12 title on Friday, came in sixth. Georgia fell to seventh following its loss on Saturday. The LSU Tigers are eighth. Johnny Manziel and the Texas A&M Aggies are ninth, and the South Carolina Gamecocks are No. 10.
Due to the BCS rule, only two SEC teams can play in a BCS bowl game this year. Six of the top 10 teams in the standings are from the SEC.
