The 2013 BCS National Championship will officially be decided on Jan. 7, and esteemed coaches Urban Meyer and Kevin Sumlin have each been chosen to hop aboard ESPN's rapidly expanding coverage team for the big game, according to an official press release.
Meyer and Sumlin will both join ESPN's usual College Gameday crew of Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso, and David Pollack, and will offer up their opinions during the live broadcast from 6-8 p.m. ET on ESPN. Before leading the Ohio State Buckeyes to a 12-0 record in his first season manning the sidelines in the Big Ten, Meyer briefly worked for ESPN as a commentator and appeared to be fully comfortable working on live television.
Sumlin, who will soon wrap up an impressive 2012-13 campaign with his Texas A&M Aggies on Jan. 4 against Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl, is still the only coach in America to claim victory over Alabama this season. Sumlin's Aggies used a relentless no-huddle attack on offense to keep the Crimson Tide's defense off balance back in early November, a win that makes the 48-year-old coach another solid fit to join ESPN's panel.
