Yost served as Missouri's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach under head coach Gary Pinkel. Prior to being named offensive coordinator, Yost served as recruiting coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Tigers between 2001-08.
Missouri's offense struggled in its first season in the SEC, scoring just 25.8 points per game in 2012 -- a mark that is 83rd best in all of the FBS. Further, Missouri averaged just 217.9 yards per game passing in 2012 under Yost, and 138.5 yards per game, 78th and 90th best in the country, respectively.
Pinkel has had Yost on his coaching staff dating back to his days as Toledo head coach in 1997, a time frame spanning 15 years.
During his tenure at Missouri, Yost helped Brad Smith, Chase Daniel and Blaine Gabbert succeed, and blossom into All-Big 12 players. Smith, Daniel and Gabbert all carved out careers in the NFL.
