Clemson lost former (I think) No. 1 receiver Sammy Watkins early on against LSU. They're doomed!
Except current (I think) No. 1 DeAndre Hopkins has been just about unstoppable, pulling in 90 yards so far and this touchdown with 35 minutes still to go against one of the country's best offenses. It was about his third nearly impossible catch, including another one with lots of contact near the sideline on this drive. No other player has gained more than 37 yards to this point, and Hopkins is a big reason Tajh Boyd is having a good game (14 of 18 for 136 yards) despite a fearsome pass rush by Barkevious Mingo and Sam Montgomery.
This one was reviewed, but never really in doubt for the Clemson fans. After the blocked extra point, it's now 14-13, Tigers. Tigers of Death Valley that wear purple and play "Tiger Rag." Okay, the LSU Tigers.
Hopkins has now broken Herman Moore of Virginia's 1990 ACC record for consecutive games with a touchdown, with 10. He entered the game with 1,214 yards receiving on the year.
