Wisconsin defender David Gilbert thinks the Nebraska quarterback's throwing motion remains as janky as ever. Wisconsin, meanwhile, is a couple plays away from being 1-3 right now.
The 2012 Wisconsin Badgers talking trash about anybody is funny. But talking trash about quarterback development? O, I am overcome.
Specifically, about Nebraska quarterback Taylor Martinez, who ranks No. 9 in the country in passer rating despite still throwing footballs a certain way:
"It still looks like he's skipping rocks out there to me," [Wisconsin DE David] Gilbert said. "But that's not my concern. That's probably more a concern of the defensive backs. My concern is hitting him. I don't care what he throws like. I'm not trying to let him throw at all.
"He still can't throw. I'm just going to say it. He still can't throw. He's not going to beat us with his arm."
Wisconsin is in the middle of its own quarterback controversy after losing one-year rental Russell Wilson to the NFL.
Prized transfer Danny O'Brien was benched for freshman Joel Stave as the Badgers lost to Oregon State and beat Northern Iowa, UTEP, and Utah State by a combined four scores.
Gilbert has one sack.
