The Cougars have lost two straight, and the Rainbows are coming off a brutal 45-point loss to the Nevada Wolf Pack. Both teams will try to right the ship in Friday night's matchup.

The BYU Cougars will host the Hawai'i Warriors in a nationally-televised battle on Friday night between two teams that are searching to find themselves. BYU (2-2) has lost two straight, and the Warriors (1-2) are coming off a brutal 69-24 mauling by the Nevada Wolf Pack last Saturday.

BYU's offense has struggled mightily in 2012, averaging just under 350 yards per game. Senior quarterback Riley Nelson has tried to battle through injuries and has been largely ineffective. The lone bright spot for the Cougars on the young season has been their run defense, which is holding opponents to just 70 yards a game.

That solid Cougars run defense bodes poorly for Hawai'i head coach Norm Chow, who, despite being considered an offensive mastermind by many, has failed to get the Warriors offense firing on all cylinders in 2012. The defense has also been lackluster, allowing over 1,000 yards to USC and Nevada in the team's two losses and surrendering 40 points per game on the season.

Game time, TV channel: 8 p.m. EST, ESPN

Point spread: BYU favored by 27.5
