The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs raced out to a strong start in 2012 thanks to a powerful offense that has hidden some of their defensive liabilities. They've scored 164 points through three games while giving up 110.
Their tendency to turn games into back-and-forth shootouts could turn out to be an advantage for the Bulldogs as they head into their game on Saturday against the Virginia Cavaliers, who haven't done particularly well in the shootout style games they've played in this year. Their two wins came in a 43-19 blowout and a 17-16 nail-biter, but nothing where both teams have had 30+ points, like Louisiana Tech, seems to be inviting so far this season.
Virginia will need the home victory in Charlottesville to right the ship after two straight losses to Georgia Tech and TCU. Following their game against the Bulldogs, the Cavaliers will start the heart of their conference schedule.
