Michigan State vs. Ohio State: Hey youse guys, Big Ten touchdowns!

Stay connected with SB Nation

The Spartans broke the high-stakes pace of a ball control shootout with Ohio State, only to have the Buckeyes respond with their own 6 points.

Breaking news from the "Game of the Week:" Rose Bowl favorite Michigan State has scored a certified football touchdown, good for 6 points with a potential extra point pending a kick. Andrew Maxwell found Keith Mumphrey for a 29-yard pass to give MSU a brief 13-10 lead over Ohio State, the league's best team not allowed to contend for a championship.

The football touchdown for Michigan State University is considered a rarity, after the Spartans didn't score one for three quarters as they struggled to defeat rival* Eastern Michigan (*confirmation pending) last week, and scored 3 points against a private Bible college in Indiana the previous week.

Not to be outdone, Ohio State would also throw the ball for a touchdown pass, and now lead 17-13. Barn burner!

The Spartans are currently boasting 249 total yards through three quarters of play and, with only 34 coming from rushing plays, could risk conference de-certification.
