Do you like watching grandiose celebrations of new calendar buying? Have you ever wanted to see a globe (that does not recognize North Korea, obviously) made out of rose petals? Are poppy seed eyes that can see into your soul for you? If so, you're in luck because the Rose Parade is upon us.
Every New Year's Day, people gather in Pasadena, Calif., to watch floats, bands and other annual oddities pass through the streets. Even more people all around the world tune in to welcome in the new year.
This year, it can be watched on ABC, NBC, Hallmark, HGTV, KTLA, RFC TV and Sky Link TV. Univision will also have Spanish language coverage of the spectacle in the United States, while it will also be broadcast in more than 220 countries worldwide. The spectacle gets underway at 11 a.m. ET and will continue on into the afternoon.
The theme of this year's parade is, "Oh, the Places You'll Go!" Nobody is quite sure what that means, but it sounds lovely.
