Wood has decided to declare for the NFL Draft, leaving one year of eligibilty on the table.
Wood was a terrific back for Notre Dame over this three seasons, gaining 2,447 yards and scoring 16 touchdowns. He was one of the key players this season in the Fighting Irish's shocking undefeated season (until they met the Alabama Crimson Tide), amassing 742 yards and finding the end zone four times.
It will be interesting to see where Wood's draft stock ends up after the NFL Scouting Combine is done in the end of February. He's a big back at 215 pounds, the kind of man who can take a pounding and keep going a la Alfred Morris of the Washington Redskins.
Wood did attend the school for four years, earning a degree. He had originally been a redshirt freshman.
