Te'o's uncle called into a Utah radio station to talk about his nephew's connection to Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, whom he did not have kind words for.
The story involving Manti Te'o and the hoax surrounding his girlfriend's death continues to draw people out of the woodwork. This time, according to CSNChicago's JJ Stankevitz, Te'o's uncle, Alema Te'o, called into a Utah radio show to call Ronaiah Tuiasosopo a liar, and claims Tuiasosopo devised the entire plot himself.
Tuiasosopo was implicated in the Deadspin bombshell as the one likely responsible for creating the false person, Lennay Kekua, and fooling Te'o into having a relationship with her. Alema Te'o was pointed with his words regarding Tuiasosopo:
"Ronaiah Tuiasosopo is a liar, he concocted the whole thing, he misrepresented whatever program that he was trying to get across to Manti, and shoot, he lied every step of the way. I don’t feel it’s beyond him to hire somebody or bring somebody in to play the role of Lennay to get Manti to buy into this deal."
Tuiasosopo and Manti Te'o appeared to be friends on some level, but it's unsure exactly how close they were. The two reportedly met when Notre Dame was in Los Angeles to play USC.
In addition to Te'os family, Notre Dame administration has strongly come out in defense of Manti, claiming that he was the unwitting victim of lies and fraud.
