Paul Finebaum leaving Birmingham's WJOX radio station

USA TODAY Sports

WJOX has been Paul Finebaum's radio home since 2007.

We're going to have to find a new radio source for our regular weekday afternoon dose of sweet, sweet crazy, as the man straddling the party line between Alabama and Auburn is leaving Birmingham's WJOX. His contract with WJOX's parent company ran through January 2013.

There's no word yet on just what caused his show's arrangement to end, but it has been a contentious (and litigious) relationship at times. According to the Birmingham News, the Cox Media Group has said it would like to bring Finebaum aboard its new Birmingham station -- Cox owns the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and seven other daily newspapers, along with broadcast presences in 13 cities.

Clay Travis reports 97.3 The Zone, owned by Cox, will be Finebaum's next radio home, but after a three-month non-compete.
