Chip Kelly rumors: Bills, Browns, Eagles eyeing Oregon coach

Matt Kartozian-US PRESSWIRE

What did we learn about Chip Kelly's possible move to the NFL on Thursday?

Chip Kelly is a wanted man by the NFL. As coaching searches around the country continue to heat up, Kelly is tied closely to at least three different franchises. With the Oregon Ducks set to play in the Fiesta Bowl on Thursday night, expect the pursuit of Kelly to intensify as early as Friday morning.

The three teams that are most interested in Kelly are the Bills, Browns and Eagles. As Cleveland.com reported earlier, Browns owner Jimmy Haslam and CEO Joe Banner are already in Arizona and are expected to interview Kelly on Friday.

It is also reported that front office members from Buffalo and Philadelphia have an interview set up with the current Oregon coach sometime before the weekend ends. After missing out on coach Andy Reid to the Chiefs on Thursday, it also seems likely the Cardinals get involved with Kelly in the coming days, especially with him already in the Glendale area.

If Kelly does bolt for the NFL, Oregon already knows who their next head coach will be. Offensive coordinator Mark Helfrich, who has been with the program since 2009, would reportedly take the job in Eugene.

Kelly has set no timetable for a final decision on where he will coach next season and beyond.
