2013 BCS National Championship weather: Calm conditions likely for kickoff

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

It's warm in Miami, where the national title game will be played Monday night, and odds are against rainy conditions.

It does not appear as though weather conditions will have a significant influence on the 2013 BCS Championship game in Miami. The high on Monday was 82 degrees Fahrenheit and it is currently around 77 degrees, with a 12 mph wind out of the east.

For the game tonight, temperatures are expected to dip down to about 70 degrees, and there is only a 20 percent chance of precipitation. Even some rain might not do much to alter the plans for Notre Dame and Alabama, as both schools tend to run the football more than they throw it. Additionally, both teams have been secure with the ball -- Notre Dame has just 14 turnovers and Alabama has 15. Both numbers rank in the top 15 nationally.

The forecast calls for a 5-10 mph wind out of the east-northeast, which could have a minor impact on the kicking game in certain situations.

The BCS Championship begins at 8:30 p.m. ET.
