Johnny Manziel hurt left knee, but able to return

The reigning Heisman Trophy winner went down Saturday night against Ole Miss.

Update: Manziel is back on the field, with a brace.

Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel suffered a knee injury in the first quarter at Ole Miss. He was helped off the field after a non-contact injury. Those are often the worst of them all, but at the moment he's testing his leg out with a brace on the sideline.

No official word as to his status yet, but ESPN's Holly Rowe is reporting he should be alright.

Here's a look at what happened -- Manziel's leg buckled beneath him as he attempted to fire an off-balance ball into the end zone.

He rolled around in obvious pain on the field for a moment, immediately being surrounded by trainers. We'll update as soon as we can.

Manziel has been remarkably injury-free during his college career to date, despite taking so many hits. He briefly went down last year against Mizzou.
