After three straight losses, Washington is looking to get back on track against a horrid Cal team. Television coverage begins at 11 p.m. on FOX Sports 1.
The Bears have struggled under Sonny Dykes, with just a one-touchdown win over FCS Portland State to their name. Against FBS competition, they are 0-6, with their closest loss coming by touchdowns in their opener to Northwestern.
Washington looked like a legitimate contender in the Pac-12 North at the beginning of the season, dispatching of Boise State, Illinois and Arizona with ease. Three straight losses have followed, however -- a close one to Stanford before blowout defeats to Oregon and Arizona State.
Rankings and records: Neither team is ranked. Washington has the 50-38-4 lead in the all-time series, and has won the past four matchups between the two schools.
Vegas: Washington is a 24.5-point favorite, with an over/under of 64 points. OddsShark has more.
Weather: 50s and foggy.
Three names to know
Jared Goff. The Bear Raid relies heavily on the play of its quarterback, and while Cal's freshman has shown some growing pains, the offense has promise under him. He's thrown for nine touchdowns and over 2,200 yards on the year, and will be slinging it Saturday.
Keith Price. Goff's counterpart is a senior who has thrown for 14 touchdowns this year, and is one of the most dynamic players in the country.
Bishop Sankey. Price may not even be the most dynamic player on his team, however -- Sankey has been absolutely fantastic this year and has run for ten touchdowns.
Two things at stake
A loss for Cal knocks them out of bowl contention.
A loss for Washington would be disastrous, sending their promising start to the season spiraling out of control and leaving them in doubt of a bowl game.
