Update: Bad news.
Stoops said Trey Millard will have surgery in a few weeks. Tore ACL and another ligament "Whole team crushed by it."— Jake Trotter (@Jake_Trotter) October 27, 2013
Fullback Trey Millard suffered an apparent left leg injury at the end of a play as he was rolled up on by a host of players, and he was escorted to the locker room by trainers for further treatment. Here's a view of the injury:
Millard only had one rush and one reception on the day for a total of 20 yards from scrimmage, but his blocking is a valuable asset to the Sooner offense.
Few injuries are as capricious and unfair as the rollup, as significant leg injuries can occur without warning and without the blocker even knowing it's coming until his leg crumples underneath him. That's not to put anything resembling a diagnosis on Millard's injury, of course—it's hard to tell if it's even his knee or ankle—but just a lament for the players that get felled like trees too often on the play.
Oklahoma leads by five points with seven minutes and change left.
