Miami and Florida State both are undefeated and ranked in the top 10 heading into their meeting this weekend, but the game may not be as close as the rankings imply. The odds are running heavily against the Hurricanes, in fact -- they are a three-touchdown underdog, which is a historic margin under the circumstances.
Florida State built its 7-0 record on a string of dominant performances. The Seminoles scuffled with Boston College in September, but otherwise haven't had to worry about the outcome of a game heading into a second half, and they haven't won a game by fewer than 14 points.
Miami's undefeated start is a quite a bit shakier by comparison. The Hurricanes edged Florida by five points early in the season despite being significantly outgained, and they were fortunate to beat North Carolina and Wake Forest with late scores.
The Hurricanes aren't playing their best football right now, and nobody's been able to slow down FSU's Jameis Winston. That all could change this week, but Vegas is encouraging you not to count on it.
