Ohio State vs. Purdue 2013 final score: Buckeyes blank Boilermakers, 56-0

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Ohio State was dominant on both sides of the ball as it continued its charge toward a second straight undefeated season.

Ohio State kept its BCS Championship dreams alive another week by drubbing hapless Purdue 56-0 in West Lafayette. The Buckeyes ran up a 28-0 lead in the first quarter and coasted from there, and Purdue was completely ineffectual.

Ohio State's defense was dominant yet again, holding Purdue scoreless and under 100 yards of total offense until midway through the fourth quarter, when the backups were in. Purdue QB Danny Etling continued his growing pains as a true freshman: 13-for-29, 89 yards, one pick. Oof.

Oh, and Buckeyes fans completely took over Purdue's stadium, at one point getting a full "O-H-I-O" chant going.

Box Score Hero: Braxton Miller went 19-for-23 for 233 yards and four touchdowns before an early exit. Here's one of those scores:

Don't look now, but Miller's stats on the year? 108-149 (over 70 percent), 1316 yards, 15 touchdowns, three picks and a passer rating of 175.5. Oh, and 410 yards rushing and a pair of scores on the ground. That's all while missing most of a ludicrously easy non-conference schedule. He's good.

Rankings Ramifications: Ohio State will stay firmly entrenched at No. 4 unless and until someone ahead of it loses. At 1-7, Purdue is unlikely to garner any votes.

But Did They Cover? Ohio State was favored by anywhere from 31.5 to 33 points. The Buckeyes took care of that halfway through the second quarter.
