How to watch Coastal Carolina vs. South Carolina 2013: Preview, TV schedule, odds and more

Jeff Blake-USA TODAY Sports

The Gamecocks look to continue rolling as they take a break from SEC play.

After a long, grueling season against the SEC, South Carolina will take a break from conference foes for the rest of the season. Up first is 10-1 Coastal Carolina.

While the Gamecocks should continue rolling, the Chanticleers will give them everything they've got at Williams-Brice Stadium. If USC comes out flat or looking ahead to next weekend's showdown with Clemson, things could get interesting in a hurry.

The numbers

Rankings and records: South Carolina comes in with an 8-2 record, and the Gamecocks have won three in a row. The SEC East race is down to them and Missouri, with the Tigers needing to win their two final games to play in the conference championship game.

Coastal Carolina is 10-1 with their lone loss coming against Charleston Southern two weeks ago. USC is the only ranked team the Chanticleers will play in the regular season.

Vegas: South Carolina opened as a 34-point favorite, per Odds Shark.

Weather: It'll be a beautiful day for football in Columbia with temperatures in the high 60s at kickoff.

Three names to know

Connor Shaw - Shaw is quietly putting together an incredible season. He's thrown for 1,868 yards, 19 touchdowns and just one interception. He can also burn defenses with his legs, running for 378 yards and three scores.

Shon Carson: Mike Davis is reportedly out for the game, which opens the door for the sophomore tailback. Carson ran for 102 yards on just 13 carries against Florida last weekend.

Jadeveon Clowney - We all know him: arguably the most dominant defensive player in the nation, look for Clowney to have a big day against CCU's offensive line.

Two things at stake

South Carolina needs to keep winning if it wants to reach a BCS bowl game.

A win for Coastal Carolina would probably be the biggest in program history.
