Chattanooga vs. Alabama 2013 final score: Bama blanks Mocs, 49-0

Kevin C. Cox

No surprises as the No. 1 Crimson Tide coasts to 11-0 in anticipation of a blockbuster Iron Bowl next week.

In Alabama's final tune-up for the best Iron Bowl since at least the Cam Newton game of 2010, the Crimson Tide coasted to victory over a hopelessly overmatched Chattanooga, 49-0.

The Crimson Tide defense turned in a predictably brilliant performance as the Moccasins managed only 174 yards on the game and only got into scoring position twice: one on a drive that ended in an interception in Alabama territory and the other ending on a long missed field goal. It wouldn't have mattered much either way.

And now...

Box Score Hero: A.J. McCarron didn't need to break much of a sweat as he racked up 171 yards and two touchdowns on 13-16 passing.

Rankings Ramifications: Alabama is No. 1. That's not changing.

But Did They Cover? Alabama was a 49-point favorite, so that's a push. If you got Alabama at -48.5, congratulations! Also, reevaluate your life!
