LSU kicker stutter-steps after bad hold, still kicks extra point

Spruce Derden-USA TODAY Sports

World's most heroic extra point.

This is the tale of an incredible extra point.

We don't give enough credit to holders. They have to catch a ball flung at them put it on its end, and do it incredibly quickly. We only notice them when they Romo things.

Things went wrong for LSU's special teams after they scored their second touchdown against Texas A&M. The snap was a bit off, and holder Seth Fruge bobbled. But kicker Colby Delahoussaye stuck with it and managed a knuckleball of an extra point after a stutter step.

DeShazor Everett ALMOST gets a block coming from the outside, but Delahoussaye somehow got the ball roughly 11 feet into the air, which is good enough for a point.

Delahoussaye and Pat McAfee will now meet in the finals of the broken special teams play trick competition.
