Nick Saban, James Franklin joining ESPN's BCS National Championship coverage

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Two of the SEC's top coaches will provide their insight into this year's title game in Pasadena. Will they pick the Seminoles or Tigers to raise the crystal football?

Before the 2014 National Championship Game kicks off from Pasadena on Jan. 6, Nick Saban and James Franklin, two of the SEC's premier coaches, will provide their analysis and insight into the game for ESPN.

Franklin will join the College Gameday crew in the morning to serve as a guest analyst on SportsCenter and College Football Live. Saban will then take the stage for the pregame show outside of the Rose Bowl. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.

After kickoff, ESPN will let viewers choose between six different ways to watch the game, including one with no announcers.

While neither coach faced Florida State this past season, Saban's Crimson Tide notoriously lost to Auburn in what will go down in history as the Kick Six game and once employed FSU coach Jimbo Fisher as a coordinator. Few coaches in the country know both the Tigers and Noles as well as Saban does.

Franklin is still relatively new to college football's national stage, though he is regarded as one of the top up-and-comers in the profession and could find himself at a blue-chip program in the next few years if Vanderbilt continues to make waves in the SEC.
