The Alabama Crimson Tide athletic director had to be treated for heart problems for the second time in under a year.

Alabama Crimson Tide athletic director Mal Moore was hospitalized this week and for the second time in the course of a year. Moore is being treated for a pulmonary condition, according to Cecil Hurt of the Tuscaloosa News.

This isn't the first time Moore has struggled with heart issues. Moore was hospitalized with an irregular heartbeat last August, but it was reportedly precautionary and only had to stay a few nights before being released.

Moore has been affiliated with the University of Alabama for over five decades as both a player and a coach. He started out by playing as a backup quarterback under Bear Bryant from 1958 to 1962. Moore then coached the Tide in various capacities under multiple coaching staffs. Moore coached graduate assistants, defensive backs, quarterbacks and twice served as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. He was then named the assistant athletic director in 1994 before being promoted to the actual position in 1999.
