Ole Miss-Texas on Longhorn Network, plus the rest of Big 12's 2013 TV schedule

Scott Halleran

The Longhorns and Rebels will be showcased on the Longhorn Network, which raises the question of how many people will be able to watch. Here's that and the rest of the Big 12's early season TV schedule.

Edit: There's hope yet, Ole Miss fans:

The Big 12 has released the start times and TV schedule for the first three weeks of the season, and the matchup between Ole Miss and Texas on Sept. 14 has been scheduled for a 8 p.m. ET (7 p.m. local) kickoff on the Longhorn Network.

Showcasing the Longhorns' biggest out-of-conference game on a network with extremely small viewership is an interesting move, and probably one designed to try to exert pressure on cable networks to add the channel to their selection. Maybe there's something else going on that day that would be easier to watch:

Mississippi State and Oklahoma State have drawn the afternoon slot for their season opener, which will be shown on ABC/ESPN2, depending on the viewer's particular geography. West Virginia and Oklahoma will play the next weekend on FOX at 7 p.m, and a week later, Iowa and Iowa State will battle for the Cy-Hawk Trophy on the new Fox Sports 1, with kickoff scheduled for 6 p.m.
