Arizona sophomore safety Patrick Onwuasor was reportedly arrested on four felony charges Monday, according to KVOA Tuscon's Brian White. He has since been kicked off of the team, per the AP.
Onwuasor was allegedly charged with possession of a narcotic drug for sale, possession of marijuana for sale, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony drug offense and possession of narcotics paraphernalia, per Daniel Berk of the Arizona Daily Star.
Onwuasor was reportedly arrested after police officers executed a search warrant at his Tuscon apartment. The warrant was obtained after an investigation into a home invasion in Beverly Hills, Calif. Tuscon police sergeant Maria Hawke said Onwuasor was not implicated in the Beverly Hills break-in. During the search of his home, officers found narcotic drugs and paraphernalia, marijuana and a gun.
As a freshman in 2012, Onwuasor played in all 13 games for the Wildcats. He recorded 36 tackles, one pass breakup and one-half tackle for loss. During Arizona's spring game in April, he recorded three tackles.
