Washington State coach Mike Leach went first at the latest edition of Pac-12 Media Day. He was asked a brief series of questions, all of which left him room to be Mike Leach, whether by referencing zombie apocalypses or asking him what's currently "chapping" his "hide." You can catch up on the video here.
On opening statements:
Mike Leach's opening statement: "All right, any questions"— UW Dawg Pound (@UWSBN) July 26, 2013
Leach: "The Clowney hit is why they have football. That's why football was invented."— CougCenter (@CougCenter) July 26, 2013
"There's no divorcin' a book. I'm preachin' to the choir here." Mike Leach answers the weirdest questions.— Jason Kirk (@JasonKirkSBN) July 26, 2013
On his quote last year that his players were practicing like reanimated beings:
"If somebody's a zombie or a corpse, I'm the head zombie or head corpse." You're watching Mike Leach, right?— SBN College Football (@SBNationCFB) July 26, 2013
He also handled an especially hollery question by talking about presumed starter Connor Halladay:
@JasonKirkSBN that's exactly what it was. Some dude in the back just yelled it.— UW Dawg Pound (@UWSBN) July 26, 2013
Leach entered as the clear leader for the title of two-time Pac-12 Media Day champion, and he did nothing to shake that status in his 10 or so minutes on stage.
