Louisville Cardinals quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is one of the biggest names in college football. The fawning attention that comes with such a status can occassionally go to people's heads, but it doesn't seem like that's the case with Bridgewater, who went out of his way to visit a fan named Savannah Price in the hospital after a Twitter request from her boyfriend, Ian Kelley.
Price suffers from Crohn's Disease, and Bridgewater said he'd go into the hospital and see her. "I even told Savannah it's probably like a 10 percent chance he shows up," Kelley said, but Bridgewater wasn't lying.

You'll often see cut-ups of athletes visiting children in hospitals, but that is usually part of a coordinated plan by the team. A star player liked Bridgewater going out of his way to visit a fan on his own may not be a huge deal, but it's refreshing to see. It sounds like his star status isn't going to his head.
"If I could summarize it, he could be this big hot shot, but he's really not," she said. "He came in here just to visit a fan, was really down to Earth, and very soft-spoken. It blew me away when he was in here."
