Davis, a sophomore, appeared in seven games last season while making two starts, including in the team's season finale with Baylor. He had been expected to anchor an offensive line that lost three of last season's starters. For a team that will begin the season ranked No. 13 in the AP Poll, the Sooners of coach Mike Gundy will need to solidify the left side of the offensive line quickly in his pass-first offense.
