USC wide receiver Marqise Lee sustained an apparent injury in team practice on Friday, according to Garry Paskwietz of ESPN LA. Lee was in "obvious pain" after catching a long pass from Cody Kessler, and team trainers were examining his right shoulder area.
Lee was carted off the field for medical evaluations, and obviously did not return to Friday's session. Trojans head coach Lane Kiffin did not have any updates to offer on Lee's status, saying he didn't see the injury himself as he was preparing for the next play.
If Lee's injury is in any way serious, the Trojans would be indisputably hurt. As a sophomore last season, Lee caught 118 receptions for 1,721 yards and 14 touchdowns. He has 191 career receptions for 2,864 yards and 25 total touchdowns, and is also an accomplished return specialist. He currently owns or shares 22 separate USC records. Most consider him the best receiver in college football.
