Arizona State head coach has addressed the bizarre finish to his team's 32-30 win over Wisconsin Saturday, pointing to the human element involved in the sport.
Graham: "There's a human element to this game...Obviously that was a very unusual deal...Even I was hollering to get on the ball."— House of Sparky (@HouseOfSparky) September 16, 2013
That softens Graham's previous statement on the matter, when he said "that should have been a turnover" and "that should have ended the game."
The head coach put the final nail in the coffin when talking about the ultimate result.
One final thought from Todd Graham on the Wisconsin game: "I firmly believe that the best team won the game." #ASU— House of Sparky (@HouseOfSparky) September 16, 2013
With 18 seconds left and the Badgers trailing by two, Wisconsin attempted to kneel the ball in order to set up better field position. An Arizona State player mistakenly thought it was a fumble, jumping on the ball. The referees did not stop the clock, and time ran out with Wisconsin helpless to kick the field goal.
