David Ash injury: Texas starting QB out hurt again

George Frey

A head injury will keep David Ash out of the rest of Saturday's game.

The Texas Longhorns are once again without starting quarterback David Ash. Ash left Saturday's game against Kansas State and will not return. He's being evaluated for a head injury, according to Kirk Bohls of the Austin American-Statesman.

This isn't the first head injury for Ash this season. He took a shot to the head against BYU and missed last week's game against Ole Miss due to a concussion. It's still unknown if Ash suffered another concussion against KSU. Texas could be keeping him out for precautionary reasons, especially considering his recent history.

Ash completed 14-of-25 passes for 166 yards and a touchdown before leaving the game. The Longhorns led 17-7 at halftime. Case McCoy, who started in place of Ash last week, will take over for Texas.
