The BYU Cougars dominated the third quarter and now hold a 37-10 lead over the Middle Tennessee State Raiders.
The Cougars took a 23-10 lead into halftime and capped off their opening 12-play, 60-yard touchdown drive of the third quarter with a 1-yard touchdown rush from Michael Alisa. BYU's offense didn't score again after their opening drive, though they really haven't need to because of their strong defensive play. With less than a minute left, JD Falslev returned a punt 71 yards to the end zone to take a commanding 27-point advantage.
The Blue Raiders haven't been able to get much of anything going offensively. Logan Kilgore has completed just 13 of his 29 pass attempts for 82 yards. On 28 carries, Middle Tennessee has accumulated just 81 yards on the ground. At less than three yards per-carry, the Cougars have done a great job preventing the Blue Raiders from getting much of anything going down the field.
