The Ducks bring their high-flying Quack Attack to Charlottesville. Will they escape with the win?

The Oregon Ducks will travel to Charlottesville to take on the Virginia Cavaliers on Saturday in an afternoon matchup between two power conference programs. Television coverage begins at 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2/ABC.

The Mark Helfrich era got underway in Eugene in high flying fashion last Saturday, as the Ducks cruised to a 66-3 win over visiting Nicholls State. The Ducks put up nearly 800 yards of total offense while holding the Colonels to only a second quarter field goal, and put up an even 500 yards on the ground.

Virginia won a tight game against BYU in their opener, defeating the Cougars in Charlottesville 19-16, despite being outgained by 139 total yards. The Cavaliers trailed 16-12 with less than three minutes to go, but a 13-yard touchdown run from Kevin Parks gave them the late win at home.

The numbers

Rankings and records: The two programs have never met. Both are 1-0 on the year.

Vegas: Oregon is a 23-point favorite. The over/under is set at 61 points. OddsShark has more.

Weather: A high of 84, partly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of rain.

Three names to know

De'Anthony Thomas. A popular name on Heisman watch lists, Thomas got off to a quick start with 18 rushes for 128 yards and two touchdowns in the opener. Last year, he averaged 7.6 yards per touch.

Marcus Mariota. Oregon's quarterback completed 12 of 21 passes for 234 yards and a score. He also ran five times for 113 yards and two touchdowns.

Eli Harold. Virginia's sophomore defensive end had a huge game against BYU, recording 11 tackles with 3.5 for a loss and two sacks. A lot of Virginia's success will depend on his ability to stop both Mariota and Thomas.

Two things at stake

For Oregon, a loss would see them tumble in the rankings, hurting its national title hopes.

A win for Virginia would undoubtedly be Mike London's biggest in his time with the Cavaliers.
