The LSU head coach denies "any improprieties" while he was in charge of Oklahoma State.

LSU head coach Les Miles has denied any alleged violations during his time at the helm of Oklahoma State, via the Shreveport Times.

A Sports Illustrated report scheduled to be released later in the week will reportedly implicate former Oklahoma State assistant coach Joe DeForest in a pay-for-play scandal. Miles denied knowledge of any such events during his time at Oklahoma State, where he was the head coach from 2001 to 2004.

"I don't know of any improprieties while I was coaching there," Miles said after his No. 10 LSU Tigers defeated UAB 56-17 on Saturday night in Tiger Stadium. "We always did things right."

"Oklahoma State has never been a place where you needed to cheat to have success," Miles said.

Miles was busy leading his Tiger squad to a dominating win over UAB, so he likely did not have extensive knowledge of the report when he made his statement.

DeForest is currently the special teams coordinator at West Virginia. Oklahoma State had a major renaissance in Miles's time with the program. The Cowboys had suffered through three straight losing seasons before his arrival, and after a 4-7 first year, Miles's Oklahoma State team posted seasons of 8-5, 9-4 and 7-5. Miles was then hired by LSU, where he has six ten-win seasons in eight years with the program.
