Lane Kiffin has made his latest quarterback decision.

Redshirt sophomore Cody Kessler has been named USC's starting quarterback for their Week 3 game against Boston College, head coach Lane Kiffin announced Monday. He beat out redshirt sophomore Max Wittek.

Both quarterbacks played in the Trojans' first two games, with Kessler getting the starting nod in each. Kessler has completed 18 of 32 passes for 136 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions, while Wittek is 8/18 for 90 yards and an interception on the year. Neither quarterback has completed a pass of at least 20 yards this season, even with Heisman hopeful Marqise Lee at wide receiver.

After a season-opening win at Hawaii, USC suffered a shocking 10-7 home loss to Washington State. The Trojans averaged a pitiful 2.6 yards per passing attempt, and the Cougars' only touchdown was scored on an interception return.

Kiffin was loudly booed at the Coliseum, and USC fans have voiced their displeasure with the coach via sidewalk graffiti. He is considered to be very much on the hot seat, as the Trojans may look to target Northwestern head coach Pat Fitzgerald as his replacement.
