ACC Media Days are happening right now. Maryland coach Randy Edsall is not attending, because he now coaches in the Big Ten. Edsall said last week that he was happy to be going to Chicago, rather than Greensboro, this year, because he would finally be in a "football conference."
This is typical of offseason ribbing that we get during media days, but you don't tell Clemson coach Dabo Swinney the ACC is a basketball conference and just get away with it.
Dabo on Randy Edsall quipping that Maryland was now in a football conf: "We just beat Ohio State. Aren't they in that conference?"

Clemson beat Ohio State in last year's Orange Bowl, you see. Therefore, the ACC is, on the whole, a bigger football conference than the Big Ten. And Swinney wasn't done defending his conference's honor:
Dabo: "[ACC] a league on the rise that doesn't take a backseat to anybody."

Rumble seats, maybe, but there are no backseats on the Atlantic Coast. The ACC is rising, no matter what disgruntled former coach Randy Edsall thinks about it.
