Garrett Noonan got in a shoving match to end the first period, which cost him the first two minutes of the second period. He made up for lost time when he batted a Matt Nieto shot out of the air and past Parker Milner to give Boston University a 1-0 lead at the 9:04 mark of the second period.
The goal capped off a back-and-forth second period that was highlighted by continued strong play between the pipes by both goaltenders; at the time of Noonan's goal, there had already been 42 shots recorded between the two teams and not one of them had found the back of the net.
Matt O'Connor has stopped all 23 Boston college shots that he's seen thus far to keep the Eagles off the scoreboard. But Boston College has shown their strength in their ability to answer deficits al season, and there's still a long way to go before the fat lady sings at Agganis Arena.
